Terms of Portal use

These terms & conditions of use (together with the documents referred to in it) tell you the terms of use (“the Terms of Use”) on which you may make use of 3GRC’s Portal (“the Portal”). Use of the Portal includes accessing, browsing, making use of Portal’s products and services or uploading material.

By using the Portal, you confirm that you accept these Terms of Use and that you agree to comply with them, you confirm that you have permission from a customer of 3GRC and/or an authorised reseller of 3GRC (“the Customer”) to use the Portal as an authorised user (“Authorised User”) and that you have a valid licence.

If you do not agree to the Terms of Use, are not an Authorised User or have a valid licence you must not use the Portal.

Information about us

The Portal is operated by 3GRC Limited (“We”). We are registered in England and Wales under company number 09673268 and have our registered office at 10/11 Cedarwood, Chineham Business Park, Crockford Lane, Chineham, Basingstoke, RG24 8WD.

Changes to the Terms of Use

We may revise the Terms of Use and/or introduce new policies and procedures with respect to accessing and using the Portal, at any time by amending this page.

Please check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we made, as they are binding on you.

Changes to the Portal

We may update the Portal from time to time, and may change the layout and functionality at any time. However, please note that any of the content on the Portal may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update it.

We do not guarantee that the Portal, or any content on it, will be free from errors or omissions.

Accessing the Portal

The Portal is made available for use to Authorised Users for the purposes of 3GRC’s service provision to the Customer, under separate terms of service between 3GRC and/or 3GRC’s authorised reseller and the Customer (“the Terms of Service”).

We do not guarantee that the Portal, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. Access to the Portal is permitted on a temporary basis. Without prejudice to the Terms of Service, we may suspend, withdraw, discontinue or change all or any part of the Portal without notice. We will not be liable to you if for any reason the Portal is unavailable at any time or for any period.

You are also responsible for ensuring that all Authorised Users who access the Portal through your internet connection are aware of these terms of use and other applicable terms and conditions, and that they comply with them.


The site has been developed considering the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and has been designed to work in the most common Internet browsers.  3GRC have tested the site in the browsers below, 3GRC cannot offer support for browsers that are below these version numbers as they are no longer supported by their manufacturers, please ensure that you regularly check for new versions and upgrade:

  • Internet Explorer 11 and above
  • Microsoft Edge 25 and above
  • Firefox 39 and above
  • Safari 9 and above
  • Google chrome 49 and above

You must ensure your browser and equipment has the following:

  • Cookies must be enabled
  • JavaScript must be enabled
  • The minimum screen resolution should be set to at least 1024×768 or above.

You are responsible for maintaining and upgrading your computer equipment.

Your account and password

You must treat your Authorised User username and password as confidential. You must not disclose it to any third party.

We have the right to disable any username or password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these Terms of Use.

If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your username or password, you must promptly notify us at

Intellectual property rights

We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in the Portal, and in the material made available on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.

You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.

If you print off, copy or download any part of the materials made available on the Portal in breach of these Terms of Use, your right to use the Portal will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made. If applicable, the Customer will be informed.

No reliance on information

The content on the Portal is provided for general information only. It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely. You must obtain professional or specialist advice before taking, or refraining from, any action on the basis of the content on the Portal.

Although we make reasonable efforts to update the information on the Portal, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content on the Portal is accurate, complete or up-to-date.

Limitation of our liability

Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, or our fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties, representations or other terms which may apply to the Portal or any content on it, whether express or implied.

We will not be liable to any Authorised User for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with:

  • use of, or inability to use, the Portal; or
  • use of or reliance on any content displayed on the Portal.
  • loss of profits, sales, business, or revenue;
  • business interruption;
  • loss of anticipated savings;
  • loss of business opportunity, goodwill or reputation; or
  • any indirect or consequential loss or damage.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a virus, distributed denial-of-service attack, or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of the Portal or to your downloading of any content on it, or on any website linked to it.

We assume no responsibility for the content of websites linked on the Portal. Such links should not be interpreted as endorsement by us of those linked websites. We will not be liable for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

For the avoidance of doubt and with respect to 3GRC and the Customer only, different limitations and exclusions of liability will apply to liability between 3GRC and the Customer arising as a result of the Terms of Service.

Uploading content to the Portal

Whenever you make use of a feature that allows you to upload content to the Portal, you shall not access, store, distribute or transmit any material or content during the course of your use of the Portal that:

  • is unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, infringing, harassing or racially or ethnically offensive;
  • facilitates illegal activity;
  • depicts sexually explicit images;
  • promotes unlawful violence;
  • is discriminatory based on race, gender, colour, religious belief, sexual orientation, disability; or
  • in a manner that is otherwise illegal or causes damage or injury to any person or property;

and 3GRC reserves the right, without liability or prejudice to its other rights, to disable the Authorised User’s access to any material that breaches the provisions of this clause.

You warrant that any such contribution does comply with those standards, and you will be liable to us and indemnify us for any breach of that warranty.

You retain all of your ownership rights in your content and shall have sole responsibility for the legality, reliability, integrity, accuracy and quality of it, but you are required to grant us a limited licence to use, store and copy that content and to distribute and make it available to the Customer, if the Authorised User is a service provider to the Customer.

We also have the right to disclose your identity to any third party who is claiming that any content posted or uploaded by you to the Portal constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights, or of their right to privacy.

We will not be responsible, or liable to any third party, for the content or accuracy of any content uploaded by you or any other Authorised User of the Portal.


3GRC controls the security and safety of content uploaded by you. In the event of any loss or damage to your content, 3GRC shall use all reasonable commercial endeavours to restore your lost or damaged content from the latest back-up of the content maintained by 3GRC.

3GRC shall not be responsible for any loss, destruction, alteration or disclosure of your content caused by any third party (except those third parties sub-contracted by 3GRC to perform services related to maintenance and back-up).

You acknowledge and accept that 3GRC may monitor the use of your content on the Portal for the purposes of statistical analysis for 3GRC’s own commercial and non-commercial use. Such analysis shall be carried out on an anonymous basis and will not involve the disclosure of any confidential information.

Your use of the Portal will involve 3GRC processing your content on your behalf. You accept that you shall be the data controller and 3GRC shall be a data processor and in any such case:

  • you may opt to restrict the storage of your content within the EEA and must inform 3GRC of such a request at least 14 days before using the Portal. In which case you agree that 3GRC may store the personal data in the EEA and acknowledge that there is no guarantee that your content will remain in the EEA if 3GRC or a third party is required to provide your content to a court, regulator or other party with competent and compellable jurisdiction over them;
  • you acknowledge that if the Portal is accessed from a location outside the EEA, this will for regulatory purposes be considered to be a transfer of your content to that location;
  • you shall ensure that you are entitled to provide your content supplied to 3GRC in the course of your use of the Portal;
  • you shall ensure that all third parties have been informed of, and have given their consent to use, process, and transfer their data as required by all applicable data protection legislation;
  • you shall take appropriate technical and organisational measures against unauthorised or unlawful processing of the your content or its accidental loss, destruction or damage.


We do not guarantee that the Portal will be secure or free from bugs or viruses.

You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programmes and platform in order to access the Portal. You should use your own virus protection software.

You must not misuse the Portal by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Portal, the server on which the Portal is stored or any server, computer or database connected to the Portal. You must not attack the Portal via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack. By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use the Portal will cease immediately.

Linking to the Portal and 3GRC’s website

You may link to the Portal and/or 3GRC’s home page at www.3grc.co.uk, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it.

You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists. You must not establish a link to the Portal and/or 3GRC’s website in any website that is not owned by you.

The Portal and/or 3GRC’s website must not be framed on any other site, nor may you create a link to any part of 3GRC’s website other than the home page.

We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission without notice.

Third party links and resources in our site

Where the Portal contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources.

Applicable law

The Terms of Use, its subject matter and its formation (and any non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by English law. We both agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
